A Galaxy Far Far Away...

Jayna is starting to really like Star Wars. Tonight during dinner she said, "I wanna watch Star Wars. Watch Yoda. Daddy, watch yoda for me?" I told her that we could. We called up Empire Strikes Back on the juke box and forwarded to the part that we stopped at the other night. She and I sat and watched the battle at Hoth together and then she got all excited when Luke found Yoda. It played the rest of the evening. Just a little while ago, she came in and curled up in the chair to watch some more, just about the time that Lando and Leia were saving Luke...she fell asleep.

That's my girl. She's still never seen a complete Star Wars movie. Just little scenes here and there, but never an entire movie. But tonight, she was insistent. She's even asking for Princess Leia on her birthday cake. The galaxy far far away is coming nearer by the day... :D

Another funny Jayna story....this is a good one!!

This email is not for people that are sqirmish, get embarassed easily, or are prim and proper.

That being said....here we go!

Earlier this evening (I can't believe I'm putting this on her blog...it's so funny!) Jillian woke from her afternoon/early evening nap and wanted to eat. So, I started nursing her. Jayna was really watching me carefully and vocally identifying what Jillian was doing. She looked really concerned and then went to grab her baby doll and sat down beside me, lifted her shirt and put her baby doll on her to "nurse". She then said, "I'm nursing too Mommy!"

Little children are so innocent...they really do know a lot more than we give them credit for. This proves it!

Have a great day!

SAVE THE DATE!!

Can you believe our little Jayna Suzanne will be turning 3 in a month? We can't!! It seems that just yesterday we were at Arlington Memorial Hospital with a new baby girl whom we never thought would come soon enough! In fact, we are amazed at how much she's grown in almost 3 years!

We'll be planning a birthday party for Jayna on Saturday, September 24th...and from what she's telling us, it'll be a Princess party with ... get this ... Princess Leia on the birthday cake! Definitely a Dave Curlee child!! Luckily, if this is what she wants, I have a lady that decorates cakes and will do just about anything if she has a picture to follow!!

Keep checking our blogs and website for updates on this special day!

With love...

Jayna...the BIG sister!

I have to tell you...Jayna's such a joy!

Can you believe that in just a few weeks, we'll be celebrating her 3rd birthday?! Time is flying by so quickly...and everyday is a whole new world experience with her!

What's the newest "latest and greatest" with her?

Here are a few catch phrases by the famous, Jayna Curlee...

* "Mommy, don't even think about it!"
* "OH....MY....GOSH" or the newest, "OH...MY...GOODNESS!!" (I'm changing her phrase because she caught on to Janice's (from Friends) REAL saying of "OH...MY...GOD." I can't allow that!
* "I CAN DO IT MYSELF!"
* "I'm a big girl"
* To her daddy she says, "You're a big boy!"
* To her mommy she says, "You're a big Mommy!"
* If we're heading up to her daddy's office she says, "Mommy, I go to Daddy's office to work."

You can bet on it that we'll keep this blog up to date as Jayna's phrases and vocabulary grows everyday! What a silly little girl she is!!

Until later...

Jayna starts school today!

Today was Jayna's first day back at Mother's Day Out after a long summer break. We went to the church last night for "Meet the Teacher Night" and found out that Mrs. Alex is her teacher again this year. There is a new Assistant Teacher, Mrs. Tracy, and she's very sweet.

This morning, as I was dropping Jayna off, she saw Mrs. Alex and took off running and said, "My Alex! My Alex!" Mrs. Alex LOVES Jayna and has found Jayna to be quite helpful today with helping her put all the nap pads, lunch pails, and backpacks outside the classroom door so that the parents could pick them up when school was over at 2:00. She also let Mrs. Alex know when parents would come get their child/children as Jayna would tug on her shirt and point to whomever was at the door.

This year Jayna will be going to MDO on Tuesdays AND Thursdays and we're looking forward to a super-smart girl by the time May comes around!
